This Peter Pan has 10 songs that have had rave reviews from audiences. There are solo pieces and ensemble pieces that include the entire cast. The script tries to stay as true as possible to J.M. Barrie’s original classic novel which features a young mischievous boy who never grows up and has many adventures on the island of Neverland with pirates and fairies. However, it differs because in this version, the fairies (except for Tinkerbell) are the narrators and of course the characters sing and dance. Depending on which song is being sung, the music for this play ranges from comical to joyous and lively or touching and can feature different members of the cast with opportunities to sing either solos or in groups. The final song, ‘Back to the Stars’, is a real tear jerker giving a dramatic and emotional finale to this beloved children’s story. At the beginning of the script you will find the director’s notes which include notes on the production, costumes, ideas for the set and needed stage props.
